Tiny knot

After my attempt at a spiral, I went back to knotwork, which I’m a lot more practiced in. One of the problems I had with making small designs was getting used to  the coarse canvas, but I cunningly solved this problem by making a complete mess of a previous design and having to cover it with several layers of paint to get rid of it.

  1. The art world jargon-speak for covering a mistake with layers of paint is “palimpsest” 😉 I love this piece, it’s very well done and has a nice feel to the brushwork.

    • If they have a word for it, then I’m not the only one to have to do this, which is encouraging. Thanks Iain
